You were and are amazing. Thank you so much for the time you put into rehearsing, costumes, sets, backstage help, the dinner, the cast dinner, the dinner entertainment, and of course the show!!!!!! Amazing!!! Hey! Let's do it again next year.
Dear Cast (or thinking about being in the cast) of The Wiz,
We will begin rehearsals for The Wiz on
Saturday, September 10 at Grace Church in Layton. 10:00-12:00 Tornado Dance with Heather: All previous JAKS dancers and if you are new and dancer, you should come to this rehearsal. Wear jazz shoes if you have them, if not wear enclosed flat shoes-not heels or flip flops.
12:00-1:00 Lunch. You may leave with a parent, or with your parent's permission, or bring a lunch. I will be there for the entire lunch hour.
1:00-4:00 Introduction to The Wiz. You will be receiving a cd of the songs (one per family) and each of you will get a script. We will begin work on "He's the Wiz" and introduce the play, the roles and some of the songs.

A sign up sheet will be on our blog and a link will be sent via email. I will try to complete the casting before reheasral on Saturday Sept. 24.
Auditions are closed. There is a waiting room for parents. Each cast member must sing a song- that song needs to be from the show, and by the character you want. Please be prepared to read a scene from the script as the character you want. If you don't know who to audition for, or would like to be in the ensemble please prepare a song and choose a part in the script to read. There may be exceptions to this process for the younger cast members. The show is cast based on these auditions. Everyone will be in the show, and there will be a lot to do for everyone, but if you want a speaking or singing part, come prepared.
