Hello, Everyone planning to audition for
Grease! Welcome to JAKS 2015-2016
season.
It seems to be a very good idea, since we are
doing a Grease number in the Benefit, to start Grease early-not the rehearsals
they will still start on Sept. 1. But I
am going to audition early. I will start
auditions August 10 and will audition all week. We will need to fit it into the Benefit
schedule, so it will be a bit crazy. Morning's are best for me and I will have
Beth prepare a sign up sheet. If you
will be out of town that week please set up a time before if possible, or talk
to me.
This will be a really fun show for everyone. Many of the parts will be double cast, but
still not every girl will get to be Sandy, Patty or a Pink Lady and not every
boy will be Danny or a T-Bird.
I want to give you a list of the other parts you
might want to consider.

Vince Fontaine- I am creating a WAXX station, so
Vince Fontaine will be seen as he's doing his radio show.
Johnny Casino-Sings Hand Jive
Singer (Girl)-Raining on Prom Night
Marty's Little Sister's slumber party scene-
lines and songs
Cathy-Marty's little sister-Sings Sandra Dee with
different words
Cathy's Slumber Party friends: 1-sings a short version of Freddy my Love,
2-sing Let's get together, and more (we can have 6 in this scene)
Dancers-not Pink Ladies or T-Birds, Eugene or
Patty for:
Mechanics
in Greased Lightning-dance and sing (can
be girls)

Couples to do a swing dance to Shakin' at the High School Hop (can be T- birds)
4 Boys-2 will be t-birds to sing Rock n Roll
Party Queen-must be able to sing harmony
4 Girls to play back up singers to Doody in Magic
Changes-Dance and Sing back-up
4 Boys to be back up singers to Doody in Magic
Changes-just singing and a few movements
1 Girl to sing at the House of WAXX radio station
during Jan's party-Hopelessly Devoted to you
1-Small girl or boy to sing the first part of
Beauty School Drop Out
Ensemble Dances:
Grease is the Word will have 3 boys-not t-birds,
3 girls-not t-birds and 4 cheerleaders-not Patty
Magic Changes will have Dancers other than the
back-up singers. All will sing and dance
Magic changes will also have teen fans sighing
over Doody
Marty's Slumber Party will have 2 or three more
girls and they will dance in Greased Lightning with the Pink Ladies
Cheer-Need 6 Cheerleaders other than Patty and
Sandy (4 will be in the opening and they can switch off so they can all be in
the opening some of the time as well as the cheer)

So, as you see there are a lot of places for
everyone to fit. Try for the part you
want-you might get it. I will cast based
on the quality of the Audition-so learn the song or songs you want, practice
harmony parts, and audition with confidence.
