IMPORTANT JAKS NEWS!!!

Hello, Everyone,
I want to thank all of you who attended the set building meeting.  I hope you have the information and direction you need to start your projects.  If there is anyone else who would like to help with set building and who didn't attend the meeting, please let me know.

Also, I attached the schedule thru June 29 again because some of you didn't get it, or weren't on the email list at the time.  Please make every rehearsal possible.

Now for the news!!!!
Karen Jones who has owned and run Performance Dance for years has turned the studio over to a new owner-director.  Aubrey is moving Performance Dance to a location near the Neighborhood Walmart.  We will be negotiating for the use of space in that studio but it won't be ready until the end of August.  Bad news is that the current PDS studio will be closing on June 15 because the lease is up.
That leaves JAKS temporarily homeless.  I am working on a couple of things to remedy this situation, but in the mean time all of the rehearsals after this Tuesday evening will be at my house at 2491 S 1150 W in Syracuse.  I know there are a lot of you who live near PDS and will be very unhappy to hear this.  But, the good news is that a lot of you live near enough to each other to be able to car-pool.  Also, I am willing to set up a pick up location-like PDS parking lot and drive a group to rehearsal and back again, if necessary.
So, starting this Saturday rehearsals will be in Syracuse until further notice.  I am sorry, I was unable to be pro-active on this earlier because I just got the news on Friday.  I am sorry for any inconvenience.
Karen was a great supporter of JAKS and was very generous with her studio.  She has agreed to continue as one of our Choreographers with Bryan and Joy.

And one more thing for now... Next season our first show will be Joseph.  I want a lot of the younger kids to be in the children's chorus.   They will be on stage a lot dancing and interacting with the rest of the cast and sing in almost every number.  It will be a really fun show.  I would like to start rehearsals for the chorus in July or August, depending on how Fiddler is going.  The tuition for the children's chorus will be much less than the usual $350.00.
Also, this is a big dance show and I want to start the dance rehearsals in the summer as well.  Of course, I will need a studio for that.
The cast will include:  1 narrator (but will be double cast) 11 wives, Joseph (may or may not be double cast), 11 brothers, the Pharoh, and Jacob.  Please let me know if you are interested in doing this show.  We also need extra singers and dancers - younger children who can dance can be dancers or wives or brothers and not in the children's chorus.

The thing about this show is that we need to surpass our Les Miserables and the sets, costumes and dances will be a huge challenge.
Hope you are all up for it.  Thanks.  Jill
