Les Mis rehearsals, etc.

Hi to all.  I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving.
I am cancelling the morning rehearsal on Saturday because so many of the actors will be missing.  But we will still have the afternoon rehearsal.

The news of the day is that I made the decision to pay the money to rent the music for Les Miserables from The MT Pit.  They are a company that records the music from the score with all of the correct instrumentation.  The quality is much more professional than what I was able to piece together from the various karaoke versions available.  I think it was a good choice but it is a little different than what we have been using at rehearsal.  It isn't different enough to make it too difficult to adjust.  I have 10 copies of the rehearsal cds and I will provide all of the lead characters with a copy.  I will need a deposit of $25.00 (it could be a check that I will hold) that will be refunded when the cds are returned to me.  Do not make copies!

I have really been pleased with all of you cast members who don't have lead roles.  You are doing a really good job of learning your parts, participating enthusiastically and following directions.  Thank you.

But, I have been really disappointed with the attendance at the scene work rehearsals.  Last week's rehearsal required 5 singers for the solos and not one of them came to rehearsal.  The sad part was that some of the ensemble cast did show up and had nothing to do.

The following parts are extrememly important and it is absolutely necessary for these characters to show up to rehearsal!!!!!  They are in almost every scene in act II and ABC Cafe, People's song, Attack on Rue Plumet, and the Beggars.   We haven't finished these scenes because these characters have not been at rehearsal.
Joly, Grantiere, Feuilly, Comberferre, Coufeyrac and the gang at Attack on Rue Plumet
We can go no further in this show until these characters know their parts and their blocking.

Thanks.  See you tomorrow afternoon.  Jill
