Joseph Volunteer Staffing

Hi all -

Many of you have been asking how you can help the week of the show below are all the details you need and more!  We move in to the theater Sunday, 2/15 at 9AM.  The truck will get there as close to then as possible and we can't keep it parked in the alley so please come and help unload/organize/build for a couple of hours and then you have your day back!

Microphones - 2 people from 530PM to end of show/tech rehearsal.  Don't be afraid to sign up for this.  We will have a list of mic changes and this person is responsible for ensuring the correct mic is on the correct cast member (and doesn't run off with the previous one) before they go on stage.  This means keeping track of the mics throughout the entire show and returning them to the sound booth afterward.

Set Crew AKA PIB (People in Black) - 5 people needed from 530PM to end of show/tech rehearsal.  These people need to be dressed in black from head (well neck) to toe so you cannot been seen when changing sets during blackouts.  

Greenroom Moms - 5 women needed from 530PM to end of show/tech rehearsal.  Spend the show in the greenroom helping kids with costume changes, hair and makeup fixes, making sure the kids are not hanging out in the dressing rooms, make their queues to be on stage and entertaining the little ones.  

Hair/Makeup - As many as possible from 530PM to 730PM.  It's exactly what it sounds like - helping the kids with hair and makeup.
What to expect:

We have quite a few new cast members this show so hopefully I can provide some clarity on what to expect during tech week and performance nights.  

Tech week is the 4 evenings prior to opening night.  It is equally as important as our shows and therefore we have very high expectations. 

• The first two tech nights (February 16th & 17th) we are working on sound and lighting in addition to running a full dress rehearsal so there may be pausing and waiting for things to come together.  We need all cast members on time (4PM) and paying close attention to learn their queues and the full flow of the show. Crew should arrive at 5PM.
• The last 2 tech nights (February 18th & 19th) we run the show. Period.  We may as well have an audience because this is full show, cast, crew, etc. doing at least two full runs prior to opening night.  Again the entire cast must be there at 4PM, crew at 5PM.

We understand this is a busy and exhausting week for everyone, parents, cast and crew alike, however if you are new you will find that the energy of the cast (and Jill) is contagious and more than anything it's an incredibly exciting time! 

Performance nights are exactly the same as February 18th & 19th.  We need the entire cast to arrive no later than 5:30PM, crew at your designated times and stay through the end of the show. For the matinee these times are 12 noon for cast and 1PM for crew.

Joseph Rehearsals

All rehearsals from now on will be at the castle of chaos. That includes youth chorus.  If your child does not have a color you may choose from the following: we need yellow, orange, and turquoise.  Other options, although we have a lot of these already, are: purple, bright pink, red, blue and green.  There is no rehearsal tonight but will be next Friday and the following Friday 6-9.  See all of you tomorrow.  We only have three more saturday rehearsals so don't miss them. Joseph Tickets & Program

Hi all -

Thanks to everyone who is selling tickets! We still need to sell around 150 tickets to break even so keep them coming!! We especially need to grow our audience the 26th, 27th and closing night.  I only have 5 tickets left for opening night 2/20 and 2 for Saturday evening 2/21, I am completely out for the matinee 2/28. 

If you haven't heard from me on an order you sent via email please let me know, I have responded to everyone I have orders for and don't want to miss anyone.

I'll be sending out a digital flier you can share and we'll have them printed at rehearsal Saturday so you can keep spreading the word!

I will have t-shirts for pick up this Saturday as well, please ensure you bring your $16 if you haven't already paid.

Youth Chorus - Costume Colors

Hi Parents,

I have somehow misplaced the color list for the youth chorus' costumes.  At one of our rehearsals I gave everyone there a color.  Would you please ask your child if he or she remembers the color they chose? If they don't I will assign them a color.  The choices were blue, green, turquoise, purple, very pink, red, yellow, orange.

It would help if you could let me know what color they have so I can select for the kids who don't remember or never got one.

More Joseph Updates

Hi all -

Please see casting changes and additional important messages below.

Tuition:

Please remember to pay your tuition if you are behind.  We are now having to pay all of the major expenses and since we are doing two weeks at the Jeanne Wagner this time all of our expenses have doubled.  Also, JAKS is a non-profit organization.  Any donations, other than tuition and time are tax deductible.  If you work for, own or are closely associated with businesses that have funds set aside for donations please recommend JAKS.

We are looking for sponsors for our programs/playbill!  Below are the details and pricing.  Please help us spread the word and do your best to increase our sponsorship.  From a marketing perspective this is minimal cost for the exposure, not to mention it's for a good cause!

Ticket Sales:

Each family is responsible for selling at least 20 tickets.  We will have the pre-pull tickets this week, just working with ArtTix to get them ready and then activate our event on their website.  I will have the "best" seats for sale through me (Beth) for $11 for Adults and $9 for Seniors 65+ and children 12 and under.  Once I am out of seats all ticketing must go through ArtTix which charges another fee making them approximately $13.50 and $11.50 respectively.  I will let you know as soon as I have these tickets in my possession! In the mean time please start spreading the word and getting orders.  Attached is the map of the theatre for reference, those in green I will have available for pre-pull. Please note there is an extra row available for Friday and Saturday night performances.

Hi All, 

The schedule for Joseph will remain the same through January with a few additions that will be sent out tomorrow.  Right now Tuesdays-Youth Chorus 4-6, and Saturdays-9-10:30.Wives, brothers, Josephs, Narrators, and Jacob-Tuesday's and Wednesday's 7-8:30 and Saturday 10:30-4.

Joseph Details

Hi, All. 

The following are the important dates for Joseph:

Sunday, February 15-load in.  We need all the help we can get to load the sets, props and costumes into the theatre.  Load in starts at 8:00 am and continues most of the day. 

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are tech rehearsals at the theater 4:00 pm- 9:00 pm. 

Performances are: 

Friday February 20, 7:30, Saturday February 21, 2:00 and 7:30, Monday February 23, 7:30, Thursday February 26, 7:30, Friday February 27, 7:30 and Saturday February 28, 2:00 and 7:30. 

We will need all hands to vacate the theater before midnight after the final show. 

Ethan, and Miriam will perform Friday-20, Saturday-21, 2:00, Thursday-26, Saturday-28, 7:30.

Tommy and Miranda will perform Saturday-21, 7:30, Monday-23, Friday-27, Saturday-28, 2:00.

Paige will sing in Jacob and sons and
Potiphar with Ethan and Miriam and Sierra will sing in Jacob and sons and Potiphar with Tommy and Miranda.
