Annie Program & Tickets

Hi, Everyone,
I still have posters and fliers if you need them.  I haven't received any ads for our program.  It's easier than you think to get people to advertise, sometimes it just requires asking.  See program ad fees at the bottom of this email.
Ticket sales are slow, however some of you have already exceeded your 20 tickets which is awesome.   Please send invitations to all of you facebook friends and contact everyone you know and let them know about this show.  We need to sell $5,000. worth of ticket to cover the theater costs only.  So if you know of a place you can put up a flier, please do it.  The more information we get out the better our return.  I have sent press releases and photos to the Deseret News, Standard Examiner, Salt Lake Tribune, and Davis Clipper.  I have also contacted 6 radio stations and sent them our public service announcement.  We will put up posters in Salt Lake and we always take our postcard sized fliers to all of the hotels in Salt Lake and put them on the consierge's desk.  If you have any other ideas please let me know.  Also, we have some complimentary tickets available to people who advertise in our program, to donors, and to anyone who might be of help to us in the future.  If you have any connections to anyone who might have a lot of money  or influence and may be interested in supporting JAKS in some way, please offer them tickets.  Thanks.  Jill

Benefit ~ July 20th

Hi, Everyone,

I am setting up a rehearsal schedule for the benefit.  Annie closes on the 22nd of June and we can go full-speed-ahead after that. 
Saturday June 29 will be our first rehearsal:  Anyone interested in being part of this great program to be performed at JAKS benefit on July 20 should be there.  If you can't make it, and are still interested in being part of the program let me know. 

Sat. June 29 Introduce program and begin working on the numbers 10:30-1:00 and Fool for the City and Couples Swing  2:00-4:00  Performance
The dancers 2:00-4:00 are:
Cody, Bryan, Rylan - couples swing
Hannah H, Megan, Hannah L - couples swing and fool for the city
Sammy and Ayrion - fool for the city

Tues. July 2    Everyone 7:00-9:00
Sat. July 6   Everyone 10:30-1:00
Sat. July 6  Fool for the City and Swing dancers 2:00-4:00

June Promo Events

Hi all -
Some clarification on the upcoming promo events. 
Saturday, June 1st @ 4:45PM, Ogden Arts Festival
(assuming we have enough cast members)
- Ogden Union Station, 2501 Wall Avenue
- 15 minute flash mob style performance. 
- No costumes, please wear whatever you would like. 
- If we have enough interest we will perform the opening of Millie; Solo - Belle, Solo - Millie - Boys dance - Girls dance - and the rest of the number.
- Jill can drive from rehearsal on Saturday June 1 (for Annie people) and can work out more carpools there and back.  We can all meet at Performance at 3:30 and come home right after the number or you can attend the festival and meet up with us there no later than 4:30.

Saturday, June 15th @ 5:40PM, Kaysville Art & Music in the Park
- Kaysville Heritage Park, 150 N. Fairfield Road
- Please arrive no later than 5PM, small stage
- Wear the same thing you wore for auditions

Annie Projects

Projects:

  1. 2 platforms 20” high, 4’X6’ – kids will be dancing on these so they need to be sturdy.
  2. 3 window frames with window box seats (box attached to one side) (3’ wide 8’ high- window seat 3’ wide X 18” high
  3. 2 Shanty facades  about 5’ wide and 8’ tall – junk wood, cardboard, old window frames.
  4. Design the front of the Roxie theater – we have a flat that will work for this

Let me know asap if you can help us out.
If you would like to do one of these projects you have a couple of choices:
    You can design them yourself
    You can get a design from us
    You can purchase materials as a donation and get a donation slip from JAKS
    You can let me know what the materials will cost and if it’s within our budget I
    will repay you when presented with the receipt- usually after the show
    closes, unless you need it sooner.
    You can request that we purchase the materials
    You can do the project at your home or other location
    You can do the project in our space at the Castle of Chaos in Riverdale

Other projects that are available are: painting and repairing flats, decorating the Christmas tree (at the theater), making a rolling cart for the Christmas tree, wrapping presents (or boxes), installing lights on our NYC set.

Flashmob

Hi, Millie Cast,

I mentioned a long time ago that we were invited to do a flash mob in Ogden.  Well that is happening on June 1 at 4:45 at Union Station in Ogden. no costumes, but I thought we'd do the opening of Millie   Solo - Belle, Solo -Millie - Boys dance - Girls dance - and the rest of the number. I think this will be really really fun and hope all of you can make it.  Wear whatever you want.  Let me know because we need a lot of people (it's a flash mob)  I can drive from rehearsal on Saturday June 1 (for Annie people) and can work out more carpools there and back.  We can all meet at Performance at 3:30 and come home right after the number.

Congratulations!

Hi all -

Once again your hard work, professionalism and talent have paid off!  We have been invited to perform at the Kaysville Art & Music Festival June 17th.  We have a prime spot at 5:40PM, on the small stage while the headliner sets up on the main stage so we anticipate a good crowd! 
You should all arrive no later than 5PM, June 17th at Heritage Park in Kaysville.  More details coming soon...

Benefit Updates

Hi, Everyone,
It's time to start working on the benefit dances. 
We are doing Old Time Rock and Roll first.  I was thinking of having 3 couples dancing as partners and some of you dancing individually.  But, we will be working on the couples dances this Saturday from 3:30-5:00.
So, the couples dancers are:

Hannah K
Megan
Hannah L
I hope you can all make it to this rehearsal. 

We will also have a dance break at the end of Fool for the City with the same dancers.  That rehearsal will be Saturday May 25 3:30-5:00

Todays schedule is:
Rehearsal at Performance Dance 7:00-7:45
Audition in Kaysville (Kaysville Rec Center, 85 North 100 E, Kaysville) at 8:00 - we go on at 8:10 please be prompt.
***I will not be able to transport eveyone from Performance Dance to the Audition, so please try to arrange transportation.  I will have some seats available if you don't have a ride.

***Girls: blue denim capris, JAKS t-shirt (not the Glee t-shirts) and black character shoes, please bring their tap character shoes for "Forget about the Boy"
***Boys: blue denim jeans or levis, JAKS t-shirt (not the Glee t-shirts) and black shoes (jazz shoes if you have them)

Audition Update - Kaysville Art Festival

Our NEW AUDITION TIME is 8:15, May 7th, please do not be late!! Kaysville Rec Center, 85 North 100 E, Kaysville.
Meet at Performance Dave at 7PM for a rehearsal.  We will need help getting everyone to the rec center so drivers please plan on sticking around.
